2017 Convention

The 2017 AHA Convention will be held at the newly renovated Denver Marriott Tech Center.  


The hotel has undergone a top to bottom contemporary renovation.  Improvements include their new restaurant, Pint Brothers Alehouse, the M Club Concierge Lounge, additional meeting space and lounge areas, a state of the art fitness center along with the stylish and spacious guest rooms which feature all new luxury bedding and design. 


The hotel offers a complimentary 3-mile shuttle to nearby attractions including the Landmark Theatre.

Host Hotel:


The official Convention hotel is the Hyatt Regency Tulsa. Room rates are $99 USD plus applicable taxes and rooms will be booked on a first come, first served basis. Room rates are guaranteed until Sunday, October 23. However, if our block is sold out prior to October 23, rooms will be guaranteed on a space available basis only. All meetings will be held at the Hyatt Regency Tulsa:

The hotel will honor room rates 3-days prior and 3-days post Convention dates for those of you looking to turn this into a family vacation.

IMPORTANT: All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. No charges will be made to this card until check-in. If you book your room far in advance and you decide not to attend, please cancel your rooms within 30 days of arrival.

Shuttle Service


The Hyatt Regency Tulsa is just 15 minutes from the airport and 24-hour free shuttle service is available to all AHA members staying at the hotel. Please call the Hyatt @ 918.582.9000 when you land and the shuttle will pick up outside of baggage claim.

Award Programs

Volunteer Service Award


  • Member Organization Level
  • Regional Level
  • National Level


Member Organization Level awards are presented by the club. At the Annual Convention AHA presents the Regional Level awards during general session and the National Level awards during the President's Banquet. Each recipient receives an award certificate, congratulatory letter and lapel pin.

Club Excellence Award


Annual awards are presented in the following categories: 


  • Breed Promotion/Community Involvement
  • Membership Recruitment/Retention
  • Club Projects


Has your club organized and participated in activities that deserve special recognition for promoting the breed and AHA? Submit your activity entries by August 15. A panel of judges will evaluate all entries and awards will be presented at the President's Banquet at the annual Convention.


The winning club in each category receives $500.00. The Club of the Year award will be selected from those clubs that were placed in the top five of a minimum of 2 of the 3 categories, and an additional $500.00 award is presented for that honor.
