The Discovery Horse Awards recognize the everyday heroes of the Arabian horse industry—horses that introduce new people to our breed through lessons, outreach programs, educational experiences, and community events.
These horses serve as ambassadors for the Arabian horse, creating positive experiences that inspire lifelong connections to our breed.
How the Program Works
The Discovery Horse Awards are a year-long tracking program.
Horses earn points throughout the calendar year for eligible activities, including lesson programs, outreach events, educational programs, and public appearances.
Participants are encouraged to track activities as they occur using the Discovery Horse Activity Log.
Annual Submission Period
Point submissions are accepted annually from November 15 through December 15.
During this submission window, participants may submit all eligible activities completed during that calendar year for award consideration.
Track Activities Throughout the Year
To make participation easier and more accurate, we highly recommend keeping a running record of your horse’s activities throughout the year.

- Log points in real time
- Track lessons, outreach, and events as they happen
- Avoid missing eligible activities at year-end
- Ensure accurate final submission
Important Notes
- Activities must occur within the current calendar year.
- Point submissions are accepted from November 15–December 15 each year.
- Incomplete submissions may not be considered.
- Points contribute to the horse's lifetime Discovery Horse Award recognition.
Awards Recognition
Discovery Horses are recognized based on cumulative points earned through eligible activities and programs.
- Rising Stars - 500 points - Stall plate and certificate
- Shining Stars - 1,000 points - Leather Discovery Horse Halter
- Superstars - 1,500 points - Highlight on AHA website
