The Executive Officers for AHYA
  Kim Luebcke - President
Hey Everyone! This is going to be a very exciting year full of opportunities and lasting memories for both AHYA and me. As I enter my senior year of high school, I could not be more thrilled to represent the Arabian horse breed as your new AHYA president. The executive board and I are eager to work with your regional directors to accomplish the many goals we have in store. In the coming months, I will share with you some of the activities we have planned.

I attend Richwoods High School in Peoria, Illinois which is part of Region 11. I am on the varsity track team, a member of a nationally known robotics team, active in many clubs, a 3rd grade Sunday School teacher and a French Horn player in the marching band; however, my passion is, of course, Arabian horses. I own one purebred gelding, Mattinee Idol +//. We compete in western pleasure, horsemanship, sidesaddle, and trail. I started showing horses when I was eight years old, and I enjoy the show experience more every year!

So, saddle up, fasten your curb chains and get ready for a great year!

If you have comments or suggestions you would like the board to consider, please email me your thoughts at youthpresident@arabianhorses.org

  Maral Otabachian - Treasurer
Hi Everyone,
My name is Maral Otabachian, and I am your AHYA 2007-2008 Treasurer! I am from the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Basalt Colorado. I will soon be turning 16 at the 2007 U.S Nationals, and as a Junior I attend online high school. My family has been a part of the Arabian horse breed for over 3 generations, and we have enjoyed everything about it, from everyday care to showing. Although I continue my first love which is showing my Half-Arabian mare DA Rihkha+/, my day to day life is breeding tomorrows Arabian and Half-Arabian working western horses for the Colorado Girls Ranch at Ranch Good Days. Since my mother is the Executive Director at the ranch I live on the ranch and see the magic that happens between girls of need and our wonderful Arabian broodmares. My excitement is seeing the great foals the following spring! I know this year our AHYA board is looking forward to improving and keeping the fun in AHYA! I am excited for this up and coming show season and hope you are too! If I don't see you on the rail at the shows this year, I will see you at Convention!
Good Luck!
Maral Otabachian - youthtreasurer@ArabianHorses.org

If you have any questions, e-mail me at youthpastpresident@ArabianHorse.org

  Region 4 - Madeline Benoit
Hi Everyone! My name is Madeline (Maddie) Benoit and I am very excited to be the new Youth Director for Region 4! I am 16 years old and a junior at West Linn High School (OR). I started riding when I was seven and got my first horse, a Half-Arabian/NSH when I was ten. Currently, I own a freakishly large (16.2H) nine-year-old purebred gelding named "Larry" (Laramie CAHR), whom I adore. We show in Hunter Pleasure and Equitation at the Arabian shows. Larry also goes to OHSET (Oregon High School Equestrian Team) Meets where his height continually surprises the other riders who can't believe he is a purebred Arabian! He is so friendly and outgoing that you could picture him sharing the tent in the desert. We also own Larry's five-year-old half sister, an Anglo-Arabian hunter/sport horse named "Sweet Pea" (Second Edition), who is currently being shown in the junior horse division by our trainer, Mary Jane Brown at Diamond B in Newberg, OR. I am looking forward to showing Sweet Pea next year. When I'm not spending time at Diamond B with Larry and Sweet Pea, I enjoy singing, playing the piano and spending time with friends. I hope to attend college in my native New England and would like to be a veterinarian.

I would love to hear from you and help you become involved in the wonderful world of Arabian Horses! Please email me at lotr_fan2003@msn.com

  Region 7 - Tori Izzo
Hey guys!
My name is Tori Izzo and I am SO excited to represent Region 7 this year! I have been riding and showing Arabian and half-Arabians for 10 years. As a young girl my mom's best friend had two Arabian mares and would always invite me out to her farm. For my fourth birthday my mom's friend bought me one lesson from her trainer Gail Lundquist. I have been with Gail and her daughter Taryn my whole "career." I owe a lot of my success to them and my peers. Late last year I had to stop riding my favorite horse named Lilly. When I had to stop riding her because she was in foal I felt like my whole world was crashing down around me. That was until I found a new horse named Land Cruiser, a HA/AA hackney cross. It took me a while to get comfortable around him, since I thought that nothing could replace Lilly. Once Cruiser and I got to know each other we were on our way to youth nationals. There we competed in the HA/AA jotr, jtr hunter pl. , HA/AA EQ. and also showmanship 11-13. It turns out that me and Cruiser went National Champion in the showmanship and made it to finals in the EQ. If you have any questions, just ask! I'm really looking forward to this year!
