Region 9 Director Reports on April Breeders Forum
The following comments came from attendees at the last Breeders Forum held in Fort Worth.
Sarah Murray - "I bought a mare in 1997 whose registration had been started by its previous owner but who had not paid the registration fee. The Registration Services staff was very helpful and we got the mare registered. They helped me deal with two people in two states to get all the signatures and blood typing completed."
Wynn Castle - 'The (Arabian) Registry has the quickest turnaround of any of the breed registries we deal with. I have waited for 6 months to a year for registration certificates from other breeds. I bought an Arabian stallion that had not been registered. The staff helped me and guided me and I still have him today. "
Holly Myers - "I have been breeding Pint-Arabians for 18 years - I look at it as improving the other breed!"
Helen Hogan -"Our club has been in a lot of parades. We put on a horse show in a mall. We have had horses in a hotel. We have donated horses to youth projects. We have been active in the Arabian horse in literacy efforts where inner city kids actually get to pet their first horse and it is an Arabian. "
Helen - "I like the availability of pedigrees on line. I like the photos available on Data Source."
Jennifer Nice - "I have had Arabian Horses for 22 years and I was losing interest. After listening to these discussions and what is being done in Registration and Marketing Development and Promotion, I am all charged up to go out and enjoy my horses. "
Marti Grimes - "I started the Pinto-Arabian cross 31 years ago I have enjoyed multiple national championships since. We need to be more welcoming. We need more open barns. I am glad to hear that the Arabian Horse Association wants more from us than our money! We need more owners."
