General Session I began Thursday morning with laughter and a little taste of Texas, concurring with this year's theme: Ya'll Come Down to Cowtown!

Charles Bass opened the 2005 Convention by presenting the AHA Executive Committee with their own sheriff's badges and ten-gallon hats.

Directly following the Canadian and United States national anthems, general session presentations began.

Following Myron’s State of the Association address, the 2005 AHA Year in Review video presented highlights of AHA’s five key areas of business: Registration, Membership, Competitions, Market Development and Promotion.

So far, 420 delegates from the United States and Canada are credentialed to represent the Arabian horse and its community at the 2005 AHA Annual Convention.
