AHYA President Kristen McKee gave the AHYA Report in General Session II Friday Afternoon.

It was a full house in General Session II
Each regional director presented the Regional Volunteer Service Awards to one or two outstanding volunteers within that region in the past year. Pictured here with Region One director Margaret Rich is Shelly Stevens, who spearheaded the successful T.A.I.L. (Total Arabian Interaction & Learning) program in southern California.

Guest speaker David ‘O Connor, multiple Olympic medalist in three-day eventing and current president of the United States Equestrian Federation, applauded the professionalism of our AHYA youth, recognized the Arabian industry as a pioneer in sport horse events, and urged the AHA community to continue molding what its future will be while USEF gladly supports and defends that direction.
2005 Youth of the Year recipient Monica Christian of Brookville, OH in Region 14 accepts the award and flowers with AHA President Myron Krause. Monica is avidly involved in 4-H and the Ohio Horse Council, rides her Arabian on a traveling drill team, attends outreach events across the country and currently serves as Treasurer for AHYA. In addition, she finds time to volunteer in her community and will be starting college this fall with enough credits earned in high school to start her at a Junior level status.

Ballots are taken for elected offices of Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Commissioner’s Review Panel, Ethical Practice Review Board, Judges & Stewards Selection Committee, Nominating Committee and Probable Cause Panel.
After a long day of meetings, nearly 400 people flocked to charter buses transporting delegates to the “Fort Worth Stock Yards”, a small western corner complete with cobblestone streets, hearty western restaurants and bars and the infamous “Billy Bobs,” one of the most famous western clubs in the world.

Entrance to Billy Bob’s
From dance floors and pool tables to mechanical bulls and real bulls in an indoor arena, Billy Bob’s offered everything within its walls.

Replacing the traditional disco ball was the gold saddle that reflected light as it slowly turned over the dance floor.
