Sweepstakes Awards $80,000 in Youth Scholarships

The Arabian Horse Association recently announced the recipients of $80,000 in scholarships awarded by the International Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes Commission (Commission). Each scholarship winner will receive $2,500 to apply to an institution of their choice. It is a merit-based program that awards scholarships based on the use of Sweepstakes horses so all youth participating on Sweepstakes horses are eligible.

Applicants must compete on a Sweepstakes-nominated horse during their competitive youth career at one of the 18 regional shows, competitive trail or endurance rides or at a national competitive trail or endurance ride, Youth Nationals or Canadian Nationals. It does not mater whether a person has won a champion, reserve, regional top five or national top ten.

Up to 40 scholarships of $2,500 are awarded each year to the current graduating class. To apply for a 2005 scholarship, applications must be submitted by July 1, 2005. Download an application here.
