$2,500 Scholarships for Riding Arabians

In 2002, the Breeders Sweepstakes Commission launched a merit-based youth scholarship program for youth who have competed with a Sweepstakes-nominated horse. This program awards Sweepstakes scholarships based on the use of Sweepstakes horses rather than earning a Top Five or Top Ten win. It is an effort by the Commission to give all youth participating on Sweepstakes horses an opportunity to get something back from the program. Eligibility requires a person to compete on a Sweepstakes-nominated horse during their competitive youth career at one of the 18 regional shows, competitive trail or endurance rides or at Youth or Canadian Nationals. Up to 40 scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded each year to the current graduating class. To apply for a 2004 scholarship, applications must be submitted by July 1, 2004.
