"I like to boss the halter trainers around…"

Paul Devroomen is in his fourth year as the Paddock Announcer at U.S. Nationals. From Burlington, Kentucky Devroomen is a member of Region 14 where he shows along with his wife and two children.

Devroomen says that time goes by much faster when he is working a show, rather than showing in it. "When you're showing you do a lot of waiting. Here, time goes by fast," says Deveroomen, who attributes the interaction and camaraderie with fellow Arabian enthusiasts as the reason he comes back each year. "This is a really great group of people. We have a lot in common and get to see people from all around the country. Plus, I like to boss around the halter trainers," says Deveroomen with a smile.

Serving as Paddock Announcer allows Devroomen to see the "best of the best" of the breed. "It is fun to get a chance to see everyone of them," adds Devroomen.
