Sport Horse Nationals
Meet the Volunteers
September 25, 2009
Annette Wells
Since the second Sport Horse Nationals held in California, Annette Wells has volunteered as Dressage Coordinator after being recommended to AHA by a commissioner. As Dressage Coordinator, Annette prepares dressage ride times, over sees scoring, and handles conflict management issues.
Annette says that her favorite part about Sport Horse is "Seeing all the people involved with SHN on an annual basis. All are friends I might not be able to see other than at SHN." Annette continues, "The "I can do it" attitude of the horses and riders at the SHN along with the natural beauty and ability of the Arabian breed." The grateful comments from participants at this show touch Annette each year. Annette also works many Arabian shows in California in addition to several open dressage shows.
Annette doesn't travel by herself though. She brings a few friends to keep her company in the dressage tower. "[I bring] Lorraine Rowland, dressage scorer extraordinaire and Lorna Scott, dressage computer data input guru," says Annette. We all look forward to seeing Annette's friendly face around future Sport Horse Nationals.
