48th Canadian National
Arabian & Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show
Saturday August 27, 2005 - Canadian Nationals Daily Update

Until Next Year...
The 48th annual Canadian National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship ended in high style, with a night of spectacular performances to an enthusiastic crowd…a fitting close to a week that included visits from the Canadian prime minister and the lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan...in addition to some 850 horses, hundreds of families and friends, dozens of tireless volunteers and thousands of Arabian-loving visitors. See you next year!
Happy Girls: Trainer Michele Blackwell-Betten and assistant trainer Lynn Van Dyke celebrate with Shantilly Lase, who won two division champiohships: the HA/AA Western Pleasure Junior Horse and the HA/AA Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse. Blackwell-Betten rode to the roses in the western class; Van Dyke rode the hunter class. It was Van Dyke's first national championship--echoing Blackwell-Betten's own first win 18 years ago. The three are from Blackwell Stables in Minnesota.
