Deferred Billing Agreement

Deferred Billing allows members to make incremental payments over a period of time for Sweepstakes Enrollments (excluding Sweepstakes Points Program).

Deferred Billing form will be used in conjunction with Sweepstakes Entry Forms. Owners may submit as many Sweepstakes Entry Forms with a Deferred Billing form as they wish.

The basic points are as follows:
  • Must be a current member in good standing with AHA. Attach all completed Entry forms.
Enclose first payment and a $100 late fee per entry if applicable. For all Sweepstakes Entries (except Breeding Entries), the horse must be registered and the Deferred Billing Agreement must be completed and signed by the current recorded owner(s).
  • Futurity Entries and other program enrollments cannot be placed on a Deferred Billing Agreement
  • Your payments will depend on the total entry fee amount
  • For amounts of $2,500 or less, you will have four payments
  • For amounts over $2,500, you can select either for or eight payments
  • The administrative fee will be 10% of the total amount of entries listed on a Deferred Billing Agreement
  • An individual can calculate the payment due based on the form instructions
  • Your first payment is due when you submit your Sweepstakes Entry Forms
  • Subsequent invoices will be sent quarterly on the 15th of the month, approximately three months after AHA receives your first payment
  • The entire balance that has been deferred must be paid in full before a Dead Foal Credit Voucher will be issued. (Please see Chapter 16 for further information regarding Dead Foal Credits).
  • If payment is not received within 90 days of billing date, the entry(ies) will be dropped from the program and all monies paid will be forfeited. Hereby, the applicant(s) will not be entitled to submit another entry on a Deferred Billing Agreement for a period of five (5) years.
Late Fees:
If applicable, any late fee must be paid in full with the first payment. For example, a Breeding Entry of $400 would be paid in four payments of $100 each. The 10% administrative fee would be $40, therefore making each quarterly payment $110. If entry is postmarked/electronic transaction dated between after January 1 and February 15, the late fee would be $100. If a late fee has incurred, the first payment would be $100 + $10 + $100 = $210.
